It was only on the 21st of January this year that Nokia announced that Navigation for Ovi mapsĀ was going to be free for all its GPS enabled phones.
Within a week of the announcement Nokia announcedĀ that the Ovi maps had been downloaded 1 million times, and now the figure is up to 1.4 million!
Also, starting next month all new Nokia GPS-enabled smartphones will include the new version of Maps, pre-loaded with local country map data, with high-end walk and drive navigation and access to Lonely Planet and Michelin travel guides at no extra cost.
Good news all around!
You can check out the announcement at the Ovi Blog over here.
It is really a helpful application that is why so many nokia users have downloaded it.
