The aim of the game is to destroy the pigs, who have incurred the birds’ wrath by stealing their eggs! You have to launch the birds and decimate the pigs fortresses. The game is simple enough, but will keep you entertained for hours; especially if you’re trying to achieve a perfect score.

Each bird in the game has a different characteristic power, so choose wisely. Through the  first 21 levels of the game you get to use only 3 of the 5 birds, but have no fear the expansion is here! With 42 extra levels, its sure to keep you entertained for even longer! We’re yet to try that out but you can still go ahead and get it from the Ovi Store over here.

If you’re adventurous and want more from Angry Birds you could participate in the thread at maemo.org where an open source level editor is available. I suggest going through the thread before trying it out on your N900.

All in all, Angry Birds is a great game to have: good graphics, simple gameplay, smart scenarios and an entertaining soundtrack. It’ll definitely keep you busy for hours.

Monopoly World

Ovi Store’s running a promo for the next four weeks, where a whole lot of popular Symbian games on the store are going to be sold for just 1 Euro. This is your chance to go and grab that game you always wanted but though was too costly to buy. Don’t wait too long to make use of this offer, it expires on August 12th.

Some of the games which are present on the offer are: Super KO Boxing 2, The Sims 3, Monopoly World, Bejeweled Twist and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Head out and check the titles on offer on Ovi Store.

Right from the main menu the game offers a lot of promise with an incredibly slick menu interface, and a lot of though seems to have gone into the design. The graphics are really good with vibrant colours so you won’t go getting confused between enemy fighters and the terrain.  Controls are easy to use, no multi-touch confusion on this game (phew).

The story line is quite intriguing and you don’t get to play just on the Allied side, the story line keeps shifting from Allied to Axis.  Quite often you’d bomb a German base as an Allied fighter, and in the next mission you’d be a German Messerschmidt fighting off the allied forces who just bombed your base.

Apart from the campaign mode, you could also try out the regular arcade mode in which you can select the aircraft, number of enemies, time limit and so on. If you’re tired of combat and the prospect of dog-fighting bogs you down, you could try out the time attack, which is a non-combat mission where you fly your plane through a series of loops while dodging terrain. you’d have to be pretty tired of combat to try this mode out though.

At 8.31 mb it is definitely one of the larger games available at the Ovi store, even if you’re on a GPRS connection

its definitely worth a download.

This game is touch screen enabled so you can choose the tile you want to show by touching it on the screen. You can also use the dpad if you don’t have a touch screen phone.

The object of this game is to  keep your orange block alive as long as possible. You can do this by moving the orange block  around the screen  ensuring that the green blocks that move around  around the screen don’t touch it. You move around the orange block using your finger. The game starts off simple, with just one green block, but get progressivly harder when the number of green blocks multiply across the screen.

An entertaining game to play with when you’re waiting around at the dentist’s or for a friend to turn up and have nothing else to do.

This download is compatible with S60 5th Edition phones (5800XM and N97 currently).
