Youtube updates Symbian App to v2.4

Google announced today that the dedicated YouTube App for Symbian devices has been updated to version 2.4. The update brings along a few add-ons, mainly support for user accounts. You can now sign in to your account, view your playlists, subscriptions and the videos you have uploaded. Some other welcome additions include being able to change the connection that you are currently using, and copying... 

Nokia C5 Unveiled

Nokia unveiled the Nokia C5 handset today, as part of the new C series of handsets. The C5 is a S60 V3 phone with a 2.2″ QVGA screen, 3.2 MP Autofocus camera, HSDPA and A-GPS. It comes preloaded with the latest Ovi Maps, that includes free walk and drive navigation, and Nokia Messaging built it. What sets the C5 apart, is that it’s a Social Networking centric device. Introducing MeeGo!

Big news at the MWC:2010 today, Nokia and Intel teamed up and merged their platforms Maemo and Moblin to form MeeGo.  MeeGo is an open source project and is  hosted by the Linux Foundation which encourages community contributions. Project releases for MeeGo version 1 are expected in the second quarter of 2010. You can find out more on their FAQ page over here. While  you’re at it, have a look... 

Symbian goes Open Source!

Everyone expected Symbian to go completely Open source sometime during the second quarter this year, so seeing the countdown on the Symbian site was a bit confusing. The announcement came 4 months ahead of schedule, less than 20 months from the time of the initial announcement, the main objective being creating a mature and diverse open source community. Symbian seems to be in a rather giving mood... 

Upcoming N900 and the BH-905 Reviews

This week we received an N900 and a BH-905 Bluetooth headset from Nokia for us to review. We were pretty excited about these devices and will have detailed reviews of these two over the next few weeks. The N900 is a not a phone! It’s a mini-computer which has phone capabilities as well! The BH-905 headset features Active Noise Cancellation using eight microphones to cancel the noise around you...
