Introducing MeeGo!

Big news at the MWC:2010 today, Nokia and Intel teamed up and merged their platforms Maemo and Moblin to form MeeGo.  MeeGo is an open source project and is  hosted by the Linux Foundation which encourages community contributions. The 17th of November, Nokia and WOM World hosted the  ‘N900 Meet Up’  in London. An interesting piece of news from the event is that the Maemo Marketing team has announced that Nokia is phasing out Symbian from their top range Nokia N Series phones by 2012, it would be replaced by Maemo. Nokia Releases the N900 – powered by Maemo on Linux

Amidst speculations running on the internet that Nokia is planning on moving from Symbian to Maemo, they’ve just officially released the N900, a Maemo powered handset.
